On a train, but don’t let racism run away

We were on a train but obviously not all going on the same journey – I saw a Black African migrant being taunted by some white youths and, using my military training, I called on them to stop – ‘What are you doing, is this a way to be Australian!’ . I think it was the shock of being called to account and the youths backed away. I noticed that they were reflecting on what they had done and perhaps had not realised what they were doing, it is a problem that, individually people are OK, but in groups they can loose their identity and racism can run away with them.
